Marquand, a village in the eastern part of Madison county surrounded by Mark Twain National Forest, has a population of almost 200.
There is a quaint country store (Cannon's family grocery) with full amenities one would need for camping which resides across from the park. Another little store (Country Cupboard) where one can buy their beer & wine and Gasoline/Diesel, if needed.
An ATM sits in front of the city hall bldg and a fabulous ice cream shop(Num Num'sSweet Shop), all in the town square.
Don't feel like cooking, head up to the family friendly winery, Victoria Vineyards for a pizza or just a glass of wine (full menu available).
Before you leave town check out the area swimming($10 Carload), kayak rentals($30-$40 a day), the Homan hall events calendar, the museum and the town log cabin.
Have family members who would rather not experience primitive camping? Be sure to check out
We are within 20 minutes of the Fredericktown Walmart.
There are RV Parks not too far from us on the Castor River:
